Things To Do

At The Blue Bruce, whether you spend your day on our property or touring around St. Jacobs, there are many fun activities to offer!

On the property, activities include hiking, canoeing, kayaking, bonfires, horseback riding, petting and feeding the farm animals. Currently, we have three quarter horses, two mini horses, four goats, a calf and a bunny. With the horses, our daughter runs an Equine Assisted Learning Program. You can check it out and learn more at hearttoheartminis.com.

Off the property, we are a 5 minute drive to St. Jacob’s, which is widely known for the St. Jacob’s market. There are many local niche shops, antique stores, Mennonite stores, restaurants and bakeries, local parks for hiking and cycling, historical sites to check out, and entertainment attractions such as live theatre.

See below for activity ideas and local tourism activity links!

We do, of course, know the area very well, and if you’re looking for a self-guided tour, we can help create a schedule and map for your to enjoy! Some of our favourite local attractions include various farm and Mennonite spots with tasty homemade treats!
